Who We Are – Maharashtra Navik Kamgar Sanghtna (MNKS)

The Maharashtra Navik Kamgar Sanghtna (MNKS) is a leading maritime workers’ union in India, dedicated to empowering and protecting seafarers, shipyard workers, and marine professionals employed by private companies in the maritime and offshore sectors. We are officially affiliated with the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), India, a globally recognized federation representing over 700 unions and more than 4.5 million transport workers across 150 countries (as of January 1987).

At MNKS, we believe that every seafarer deserves dignity, respect, and fair working conditions—whether onboard a cargo vessel, cruise ship, oil rig, or in a coastal shipyard. Our union is built on principles of unity, fairness, and proactive support, ensuring our members are not only protected but also guided toward long-term career growth and legal security.
